Preserve your photos.
What types of photos do you do?
Scanning photos can be an intensely laborious process. Although scanning just a few photos is relatively easy, the conversion of mass quantities of photos becomes difficult. Many people wonder how many photos they have. A good rule of thumb in understanding how many photos you may have is to know that the average household has over 4,500 photos. Our highly trained, professional technicians combine their expertise with the best scanning equipment to provide the highest quality product. We believe that the process of converting your photos is something that should be done right and done once.
People have their photos in a variety of ways, from stacks of loose photos, or in paper sleeves from the time they were developed, to albums, scrapbooks, and even in frames. Although we take all varieties except for framed material, the fastest and easiest form for processing photos is when they are provided to us as loose photos, without anything stapled, taped or attached to them—removed from adhesive albums, behind photo corners, and out of the plastic and paper sleeves. Any folded items should be unfolded. So please provide as many as possible in this fashion. The more your photos are able to be separated from each other, the easier and faster it will be for you to sift, sort, share, and organize your photos once they are digitized. Otherwise it will inhibit scanning and slow the digitizing process. Also, it uncovers the writing and information on the backs of the photos, which can be priceless information. These suggestions comes after scanning literally tens of million of files. If photos are left behind plastic sleeves, corners, etc., it required more points per photo.
